Novel approaches to managing Capture Agents with minimal infrastructure

Andrew Wilson

In the summer of 2017 we embarked on a planned upgrade of all 320+ Opencast compatible capture agents from Ubuntu 12.07 and legacy Galicaster to Ubuntu 16.04 and galicaster 2.0. This talk will focus on how ansible helped us achieve this without the need for existing server or network infrastructure (for example a Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) system).

I will provide some novel methods used to facilitate this upgrade that traditionally would have been prohibitive.
